Volute is a private, invite-only alumni network operated on behalf of participating institutions. By creating an account and using the platform, you agree to these terms.
Accounts are issued by invitation from your institution's administrator. Your access is tied to that institution and may be suspended or revoked by it. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
Content you post must be lawful and respectful. You may not harass other members, post content you do not have the right to share, misrepresent your identity or affiliation, attempt to access other members' data, or use the network to send unsolicited commercial messages. Member contact details and profile information found here may not be scraped, exported in bulk, or used for marketing outside the network.
You retain ownership of what you post. You grant Volute and your institution a licence to host, display, and distribute that content within the network for the purpose of operating the service.
The service is provided on an "as is" basis without warranties of any kind. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. To the extent permitted by law, Volute is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the platform.
We collect the account details you provide during registration (name, email address, and password), the profile information you choose to add, the content you post, files you upload, and technical data such as log and device information generated when you use the service.
Your information is used to operate the network: authenticating you, displaying your profile and posts to other members of your institution, sending service and notification email, and maintaining the security and integrity of the platform.
The platform includes optional AI features that surface relevant discussions, documents, and member introductions. Where you have granted consent during registration, your profile information may be processed to generate these recommendations. You can review or change this preference at any time from your profile settings.
Your profile and posts are visible to other members of your institution's network and to its administrators. We do not sell your personal information. We share data with service providers who help us run the platform (hosting, email delivery, and AI processing) under contractual confidentiality obligations, and where required by law.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can edit most of your information directly in the app, or contact us using the details below.
We use cookies that are necessary for the service to function, including maintaining your signed-in session and remembering which network you are viewing.
